July 2nd our very own Thaylin Burns will lead a discussion on building Flex apps that use best practices and use more AS3 and less MXML. There are a ton of hello world Flex tutorials out there. But very few examples of non-trivial applications from the real world. They exist, but no one is sharing. All of that will change on July 2nd when Thaylin shows us how he builds Flex apps.
Update: Thaylin will walk us through building an app without MXML or external libraries. We've gone from a little Flex, to no Flex. Read below for more details.
We'll be going over creating a basic app in flex without MXML, using other libraries, and applying basic CSS to our app to get the look we want. On top of this we'll go over a few tips and tricks in flex/eclipse as well as some good practices.
But that's not all! Thaylin will be raffling a copy of Flexbuilder 3. So don't miss this meeting!
